You bring up a good point AntBee, I’m probably just being shallow not wanting him to be Bae. In everything I’ve seen him in, he is a compelling actor that constantly surprises me: plus he could hold his own against Robert.
Yes, in some of the pictures, he doesn’t quite bring the pretty/sexy I pictured for Bae, but I think his charisma and swagger really come through when he’s onscreen. (lol, I will never stop using the word swagger until we finally get our Jack/Bae for sure even though I hate that word in real life. 😀 )
Of course, the more I build him up now, the more I’m going to be disappointed when he’s not Bae, but at this time, if he is Bae, right now I’m glad they decided to go for substance over immediate eye candy because while I love the eye candy on the show, sometimes the acting isn’t as great as the pretty. Now some of it is the writing but not all though.
Plus, I like that he stands out compared to the rest of the fake!Baes at least to me because he looks very rugged and manly.
Still feels too cut and dry, like once again their leading us off. Every time they describe someone as ‘dark’ or ‘mysterious’ now, I just want to call their bluff.
Yes, I bet he won’t turn out to be Bae now, and that they’re having fun messing with us again. Seriously if I were a blond or a redheaded male actor in my 20s-30s, right now I would think about protesting the show because all they’ve hired are brunettes since they hired Eion Bailey.
I really think some reporter should get Jen really drunk during an interview, take her to dinner, and then ask her who Henry’s father is. She admitted at ComicCon that she’s known from the beginning. And I really need to know the answer for my sanity. Maybe they could take David, too, to get some answers on who Dr. Whale actually is.
Oh that would be wonderful; although if I was dating Sebastian Stan, I don’t think I would be tempted by anyone else. 😆
AntBee, I told you that song was depressing. It’s even more haunting when sung. It will be interesting to find out who this Mihla actually is. Poor Bae had it even worse than Emma, imo, so I wonder how screwed up he’ll actually be.
Yes, if Milha does turn out to be his mom, and she was in a situation like that, then his childhood became even more messed up. I really hope that when Emma is trying to deal with accepting what her parents did to save her life that he can help her realize that she could have had it much worse because at least her parents didn’t abandon her because they were selfish like maybe his mom and dad did to him.

ParticipantI actually think he looks a bit like Dylan. I did google him because I’m unfamiliar with his work and he’s more attractive in other pics, but I could imagine him as Bae and/or Henry’s father.

Please, please don’t be Baelfire…Beaman? Fine, I could easily see him playing that kind of character. But, I really don’t think he looks like Dylan. Thoughts anyone?
Yes, I don’t mean to be shallow, but what Josephine posted a page back, please for Jack/Bae.
They really are just toying with us now. I have a suspicion Jack will be brunette and gorgeous, too.
I mean it’s not like he’s ugly, but he doesn’t look anything like Dylan Schmid or Robert Carlyle at all. While his eyes and hair match, I guess, the rest just doesn’t imo. However, if he is Bae, I will be okay with him as long as his acting is on par with Robert Carlyle’s, then I won’t care what he looks like.
Although I have to add, if he does turn out to be Jack/Bae, right now I feel sort of cheated because Julian Morris and Colin O’Donoghue look more like I would picture Bae to look like as an adult. Of course, I’m not familiar with Michael Raymond-James’s talent, so maybe I’ll see the “swagger like Jagger” that Jack is suppose to have, if he is in fact Jack/Bae.
ETA: I just looked up some of his work on YouTube, and I’m smitten with him. (So of course, he’s not going to be Bae now that I wouldn’t mind him being Bae.) He’s not what I pictured Bae to look like at all, but I think he definitely has swagger. While older than I imagined, I think that can definitely work for the character. I think he can match up well against Robert Carlyle in scenes that they’re in together if he’s Bae too which is a big plus.
Gosh, this theorizing is starting to sound exactly like the folk song “House Carpenter”. Boy, that song is depressing. It’s a story about a woman abandoning her baby and husband to go off with her true love. It ends tragically. i’m on a tablet and can’t get YouTube so here is a link to the lyrics.
That was really depressing. 😥
I wonder if they’ll go that route with Milha then because if she’s just a bored housewife that leaves and never comes back to her family, I don’t think I would like her very much. However, if she’s a bored housewife that realizes that she shouldn’t have left her baby, I would certainly feel more sympathy towards her, at least I think so if it was like in the song, and I think more fans would too. Plus, I think it adds another layer to the one true romantic love theme throughout the show in that Captain Hook may have been Milha’s one true romantic love, but since she was already married and had a child, then maybe going after one’s true love isn’t such a wonderful idea at that point anymore.
I expect we’ll see also see this idea with Lancelot’s character, so maybe season 2 will be the cautionary side of romantic true love. I also read that Prince Phillip is torn between Aurora and someone else, but I’m not sure how true that spoiler is. So there would be another possible example. Then, of course, if Henry’s dad does come back on the scene as Jack/Bae, I would expect that’s not going to go too well this season between Emma and him.

ParticipantI don’t know about Daddy’s girl stuff? Stereotype I’ve never seen in real life I guess. I had a great relationship with my dad but mostly by being more independent and tomboyish, rather than because I relied on him.
I like to think Charming will be proud of Emma for growing up and being so courageous and independent.
I’m hoping Emma feels confused, angry, overwhelmed, excited, fearful, and every thing else by knowing who her parents are.
I’m not sure we’re going to see a whole big father/daughter dynamic at first. I’m having a hard time imagining Emma being very attached to him, I guess. Even as much as she’ll realize Mary Margaret wasn’t fully the real Snow (and miss her somewhat), I think she’s very invested in her and would still feel this attachment to a woman who at least still LOOKS like her best friend. She had no major emotional attachment to David (and actually more reason to dislike him than like him.)
I find myself thinking if David’s original plan to leave town had worked out, then when MM told Emma about it she would have been like “I’m sure you’re better off without him and now you don’t have to worry about running into him around town.”
I think Emma saw David as an acquaintance but not much else. I’m not sure she’d be eager to learn more about him but I guess as she starts to see him as the REAL him, she might be a little surprised/pleased to learn he was not the annoying guy David was.

ParticipantI also thought he’d be a bit older….like around the same age as the guy who played Hook in that movie with Robin Williams as Peter Pan.
meticulous style and old-school manners of a proper gentleman”. “Hook relishes every challenge and never backs down from a fight, whether the reward is power, riches, or women
A guy with that description might be shown going for every attractive woman he sees. Belle would probably be at the top of the list if we go on the assumption that Rumple is his enemy. But then there’s also Emma because she’s technically a princess, and sweet, flirty Red. With the outfits that girl wears she’d be a walking magnet for a guy like Hook! 😮 I even read posts from some people on tumblr who already ship Hook with Regina 😆
beneath that veneer lies a vindictive enemy who will not rest until all his enemies have been defeated… and humiliated
Besides Rumple, he could also be after Regina because she cast the curse. Come to think of it, he actually sounds like a male version of Regina.
I was thinking that maybe the flashback will be to when Captain Hook met up with Milha, Rumple’s ex, and then something happened between them.
I really don’t think Milha is Rumple’s ex-wife. If they were going to introduce us to her I think they would’ve done so back in Desperate Souls. I think she’s just a character who’s going to be used to introduce us to Hook back in FTL.

Really thought Rumple and the Blue Fairy had their memories for most of the first season: knowing now that they didn’t leaves so many questions…How did he manage to track baby-Henry in Phoenix? Why a baby states away when there had to have been available babies in New England? Who brought him to Maine if Rumple couldn’t leave?
I assumed, when I thought he remembered all along, that Rumple had PIs tracking Emma and sending him info. for 28 years: so he knew about Henry and where she was.[
I think I read somewhere that we’ll be seeing more of Emma’s past next season, so maybe some of these questions could be answered..Intrigued: what’s the alternative???
PriceofMagic: I’m getting to the point where I’m probably just seeing what I want to see..
I really thought that Rumple had his memories all along. Even the first time, the writers came out and said he didn’t, I was like there’s no way because who else could have orchestrated everything from getting Henry for Regina to writing the book and making sure it would end up with Henry if he didn’t know from the very beginning. Then, they said it again, so I finally accepted it. Other than trying to figure out those big questions, I guess on some level it makes sense because Rumple might have been pushed over the edge if he had to live with his memories of Bae for 28 years but not be able to go seek him out in our world. Plus, by keeping those memories hidden, at least for now Regina doesn’t know anything about Bae; although, I get super pissed at Rumple when he does things like challenges Regina about the real reason he made the Curse, because that’s only going to put Bae in more danger when he shows up, not that he wouldn’t be anyways, but no need to put him any more danger I say. (To be fair, that was before Rumple knew that Regina had Belle locked up, so maybe he’ll realize he needs to be a bit more careful around her now.)
As for who brought baby Henry, I still have no clue if Rumple and the Blue Fairy are both ruled out. The only explanation that I can think of is that the Curse did it because Henry was the only baby that could be brought to Storybrooke since his parents are both from the Enchanted Forest. I’m still under the impression that regular people couldn’t just enter Storybrooke, so I have no idea even if Rumple had looked for a baby and found out through making phone calls or what not that there was a baby available, how Henry could have even been brought inside Storybrooke if non-magical people couldn’t enter. Maybe it will be a plot hole that won’t be explained because I really hate the idea that Bae would do something like that especially if he’s Henry’s father.

Participant1. The character you first fell in love with…
That would definitely have to be Prince Charming, who nearly died saving his newborn baby daughter. From that scene on, I was hooked (not to mention crying buckets).2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now…
At the risk of sounding cliché, that’d have to be Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold, but not because of “Skin Deep” like so many others. He really had me from “Desperate Souls” on, in that I saw him as a sympathetic character who made the wrong choice but for the right reason. I don’t think he’s that attractive as a reptile-like creature, but I do think Robert Carlyle is one of the best actors on the show and cleans up nicely as Mr. Gold.3. The character everyone else loves that you don’t…
Belle (and I say that with caution and respect for those who disagree). It’s not that I dislike her as a character, as much as I wish they’d found a more convincing actress to play opposite the amazing Robert Carlyle.4. The character you love, but everyone else hates…
August W. Booth, because even though he’s an over-sized puppet, he’s still got an awesome motorcycle and vintage typewriter. I also don’t think his story is finished. He is somehow linked to the writer of Henry’s book, and I love the intrigue.5. The character you used to love, but don’t any longer…
I never really “loved” the Blue Fairy, but she has certainly fallen in my esteem (mostly after 1×19 when she had a look of secret delight when Baelfire took the magic bean from her).6. The character you would totallly smooch…
Hypothetically speaking, Prince Charming.7. The character you’d want to be like…
Emma Swan. She is just a cool, modern heroine, who despite her past mistakes, has really stepped up to the plate to save her kid, and consequently, the parents she never knew. She has really shown an amazing amount of growth over S1, and she shares a lot of noble virtues with her parents (when they aren’t cursed).8. The character you’d like to slap…
Regina. Though I think Lana Parrilla is incredible as an actress, Regina is one crazy lady. Even though she suffered a horrible loss which caused her to snap, taking out your revenge on poor Snow White, who was just a little girl who lost her mother too young, is cruel, vindictive and malicious. IMO, her anger was misdirected, and really she should have been the most outraged at her evil mother. That being said, I hope Regina finds redemption, and that her love for Henry will allow her to forgive his grandmother.9. A pairing that you love…
Snow White + Prince Charming is the way true love should be. I love those two together.10. A pairing that you despise…
I don’t despise Grumpy and Nova, but I don’t love them as a pair either."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

ParticipantOhh, I forgot about Emma arrested in Storybrooke.
AntBee, now that you mention it, maybe they will show up. I’ve got the Christmas story started and have plans for New Years Eve.
Autumn, now I’m going to have to watch Skin Deep for the hundreth time (well, the Rumbelle parts that I watch). I do wonder though if the cup will show up again. Robert Carlyle took the original home and is auctioning it off to charity. So they’ll have to get another if it shows up again.

Participant1. The character you first fell in love with…
Graham. I didn’t like Charming initially. I thought he looked old in the pilot.2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now…
Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold.3. The character everyone else loves that you don’t…
August. This is weird because I wrote an Emma/August fanfic awhile back but since the reveal, I mostly wish he doesn’t come back next season. It would be totally fine with me if he just stayed dead and not a talking, magical wooden puppet. That would just be ridiculous.Emma, in the beginning of the season is a close second.
4. The character you love, but everyone else hates…
I can’t think of anyone at the moment.5. The character you used to love, but don’t any longer…
The Blue Fairy. Actually, I never trusted her and her actions in Dreamy and especially with Pinnochio and Geppetto, cemented it for me.6. The character you would totally smooch…
Graham, if he were still alive.7. The character you’d want to be like…
Snow and Red.8. The character you’d like to slap…
Cinderella, Cora, Regina and the Blue Fairy.9. A pairing that you love…
Rumbelle. I actually was not that excited when I heard about the episode, but I did think it was odd that there was no mention of the beast and I wondered, for a second if Rumpel was going to be the beast. He was, Skin Deep was awesome and I fell in love with the pairing immediately.10. A pairing that you despise…

Does anyone think there is a chance Charming encountered Belle in the Evil Queen’s dungeon? Snow met Grumpy in King George’s cell. Just a thought I had today. She probably had Belle then, although we’re not positive. So they could have been in her prison at the same time.
Interesting theory. It would be a nice parallel since Grumpy and Belle also know each other. (By the way, any chance Grumpy and/or Nova will appear in your “Charming White Gold Swan” saga?)
I just realized all the main characters except Regina have been imprisoned at one point.
Snow-King George and in Storybrooke
Charming-King George and Regina
Rumple-Charmings and Storybrooke
Belle-Regina
Emma-teenager in Arizona
Henry-in utero 🙂That’s too funny. Don’t forget that Emma was in prison in Storybrooke in the pilot too. I bet that Henry’s father has been in jail before also.
Mmm, maybe it’s suppose to be ironic because Regina has held everyone prisoner for the last 28 years or more in some cases, but she’s really the one in the prison of her own making.
I doubt Rump’s deal making days are over. Since he probably just gave Regina some powers again, he can probably countdown the minutes until someone shows up looking for his help to stop her.
Oh, I’m sure they’re not, but I just wish the “good guys” wouldn’t be so hypocritical about going to him for help. I can understand in some situations that he manipulates, but the other times, I’d like to see them trying to think their way out of a situation before just automatically going to him. Maybe it would take too much time to include scenes like that, but just once and awhile, I’d like to see that first or at least have the “good guys” stop complaining about how evil Rumple is if they keep running to him for help all the time.
