I think you are right that it’s about Emma being a tougher Savior than those who have come before.

Agrabah is a realm now….? Huh? Okay, so how can a realm have a capitol though? Its like saying there is a capital of earth or a capitol of the milky way galaxy, isn’t it?
I can understand if he means that Agrabah is a…region, that has several kingdoms within it that itself lies within a much larger realm . For example, just as Arendelle is a kingdom within the realm of Fairytale Land, neighboring the Enchanted Forest which has several kingdoms within it. But if Agrabah is a realm….I don’t know. I’m just going to go with it.
Anyway, gosh Jasmine colors are so beautiful. And yay we got another reference to the fact that these people are in movies! We really need more of those, youd think Emma would use them to be more genre savvy.

There’s normal and even high fantasy relationship drama. And then there’s Rumbelle.
lol. Somehow this is funny, in a kind of tragicomical way.
This is more abstract than simply speaking Rumbelle, but it strikes me that one of the problems is that the entire narrative armature of the show disallows for Rumbelle to have a successful end. It’s because, as far as OUAT is concerned, we’re in a sort of post-Cold-War era. Seasons 1-3 were largely about a kind of “Cold War” (that sometimes heated up) between the Emma/Snowing faction and allies, and the Regina/EQ + henchman/henchwoman/relative of the week faction. Rumple was, in that configuration, the powerful, but largely unaligned state that went back and forth, helped and hindered both, depending on what suited his needs, and pulled the strings behind the scenes. This was a perfect role for the character.
Once Regina started down the road to redemption, the balance of power that was compelling in the early seasons got completely lopsided. Because now you have Emma + Regina vs villain of the week, and villain of the week is never all that impressive by definition (because the stakes are honestly low, we know they’re leaving). So to raise the stakes of these episodic villains, they have to have Rumple automatically throw in with them to equal out the odds. Since Belle is an allied state (though most of the time she occupies the historical role of Poland, metaphorically speaking), she is always going to side with the good guys. So there you go, this relationship is structurally doomed.
The only way to solve it is to have Rumple throw in with the good guys, but we can’t have that, since there is no big enough threat to balance out the power players. Or to have Belle go shady.

Me too, even tho he will probably die or goes to jail, but im happy for this secret so well kept, i mean this was filmed 6 weeks ago, the prep was 8 weeks ago and no one knew he would be there. But im happy that i get to see him again and i dont have to worry about ships, lol.

What if Emma learns that the only way for the Savior to have a happy ending and avoid her destined death is for her to cast the Savior title onto someone else. And maybe the second half of the season could probably be the repercussions of Emma throwing away her role as a Savior and much like Regina will have to learn and fully accept her dark side
That’s a pretty interesting idea and it has its roots in Savior mythology. Henry told Emma in S1 that the hero always doubts at first but this extends beyond that, to wishing the task would literally be given to anyone else because the burden and what is to come is too heavy to bear. Here in the western world, the word “Savior” comes equipped with one Savior in particular, Jesus, and it would be pretty impossible for two American screenwriters to escape the legacy of Christianity since the Bible/New Testament informs, uh, a lot. This exact same crisis follows that particular Savior until he must accept his own destiny.

Is baby Neal a Saviour too, being born of true love? If that is the only parameter then surely any child of a True Love marriage would be a Saviour?
Short answer: no. A and E and even Jane have said that not all babies born of TL are Saviors or even magical. Emma is the Savior because of a nifty little equation: Snowing Ultimate True Love Put On The Dark Curse + Dark Curse Cast = Emma Swan, Savior If any one of those things is taken away, Emma essentially changes. So maybe Aladdin was born of True Love but because there was no curse, his Saviorhood is less than instead of equal to Emma’s. OR maybe Aladdin gained magic and broke a Curse and is proclaimed a Savior but because he was not born of True Love, his Saviorhood is less than Emma’s.
So what if…and this is a long shot! What if Emma learns that the only way for the Savior to have a happy ending and avoid her destined death is for her to cast the Savior title onto someone else. And maybe the second half of the season could probably be the repercussions of Emma throwing away her role as a Savior and much like Regina will have to learn and fully accept her dark side, Emma’s going to have to fully accept her role as the Savior and find a way to earn back her title, this time by her own choice and will and not because someone forced it on her.

I’m now starting to wonder if in the winter finale Regina will end up wishing that she had never cast the dark curse, which would allow for them to explore a reality in which Emma Swan never got to meet her parents etc it would be interesting to explore a world where a lot of what we have seen hadn’t actually happened and how things would have played out. I guess it sounds like more of a 2-hour finale type adventure in the vein of the past few seasons. I was just thinking that if the lamp and genie come into play, something like this could happen.
There would be one glaring problem with scenario. One of the laws of magic that the genies had to follow was that they couldn’t change the past. Now granted, I know Adam and Eddy aren’t known for consistency, but thought this was still important to point out.
